A mobile, on-device Dragon Anywhere alternative for diagnostic reports

Doctilio is a mobile medical dictation app that turns your spoken findings into a specialty-structured report. If you used Dragon Anywhere to dictate on your phone and can no longer renew it, Doctilio is a like-for-like place to dictate, with one difference that matters: instead of a block of generic transcribed text, you get a structured radiology, cardiology, pathology, or nuclear medicine report, formatted in seconds, ready to review, sign, and export as PDF or Word. Speech-to-text runs on-device, you dictate every word including the punctuation, and the app applies your specialty's structure and composes nothing.

What happened to Dragon Anywhere

If you are on this page, you probably already know. As of July 1, 2026, Nuance stopped selling and renewing Dragon Anywhere. The notice on its App Store listing reads, verbatim:

As of July 1, 2026, Dragon Anywhere Mobile is no longer available for sale. Purchasing new subscriptions and renewing existing subscriptions is no longer possible.

The listing is still visible, so it has not been delisted, but it can no longer be bought or renewed. Dragon Anywhere was a generic mobile dictation tool: speech to text, at $14.99 per month (historical price; as of July 2026 no new subscriptions or renewals are possible). It gave you transcribed text. It did not structure a diagnostic report.

That is the gap Doctilio fills, and it is aimed first at the reads that arrive with no software attached: the per-click teleradiology list, the legal and personal-injury case read at the kitchen table, the overflow contract, the moonlighting shift at a site whose PCs you cannot install anything on, and the independent cardiologist's evening stack of echo, stress, and Holter reports.

What you get with Doctilio

• A structured report, not a transcript. You dictate your findings; Doctilio formats them into your specialty's report shape (Findings and Impression, organ-system order) in seconds. Radiology, nuclear medicine, pathology, and cardiology (echo, stress, cath, and nuclear cardiology), plus other report-heavy fields.
• You stay the author. You dictate every word, including the punctuation. The AI applies structure and layout and composes nothing, not even a comma. There is no machine guess to un-write, because there was no conversation for it to interpret.
• On-device speech recognition. Your speech is transcribed on the device. Dictate at the reading station, between cases, or at the kitchen table.
• Custom vocabulary that learns your terms. Build a vocabulary of the drug names, referring physicians, and abbreviations you use. It is stored on your device.

Not an ambient scribe, and it never records patients

Doctilio is a dictation tool, not an ambient scribe. It does not listen to, record, or transcribe patient conversations. There is no patient encounter being captured anywhere in the product, so there is nothing to consent to, retain, or subpoena from us. That is the whole point of dictation-first: the input is your own professional findings, in your own words.

What Doctilio does not do

We would rather you learn the limits here than discover them after you subscribe.

• No PACS, RIS, or EHR integration, and none is promised. Export or copy is the workflow. That is deliberate: no integration project, no IT ticket, nothing to install. It is aimed first at the reads that have no system today.
• It is not a medical device. Doctilio is a documentation aid. You review and sign every report; the clinical judgment and the final words are yours.
